Tuition Payment
By enrolling to the Leangap Summer Programs and making a deposit, the student and their family agree to the following terms and conditions regarding tuition payment and refund policies.
- Deposit: Upon admission to any and all Leangap Summer Programs, a non-refundable deposit of $700 USD must be made within 10 business days to secure the student's seat. The deposit is due upon receipt of admission and serves as confirmation of the student's intention to enroll at Leangap.
- Tuition Payment: The remainder of the tuition can be made in a single payment or 14 days after the deposit is made. The tuition payment deadline is 14 days after receipt of the admission paperwork.
- Refund Policy: While the $700 USD deposit is non-refundable, the remainder of the tuition is refundable if the program start date is more than 60 days away. If the start date is less than 60 days away, no refund will be issued as all costs have been paid upfront by that point. Any and all refunds are subject to a 3% processing fee to cover payment processor charges. This is a standard fee set by our payment platform, Stripe, and not a fee imposed by us. By requesting a refund, you acknowledge and agree that 3% will be deducted from the refunded amount.
This Refund Policy applies to voluntary withdrawal/cancellation by the family; Force Majeure situations are governed by the Force Majeure section below.” - Force Majeure Event: Leangap Education, Inc. (“Leangap”) may need to cancel, postpone, relocate, shorten, suspend, or modify a program (including changing the schedule, activities, housing/dining provider, or moving some or all programming to a hybrid/virtual format) due to events outside Leangap’s reasonable control (each, a “Force Majeure Event”). Force Majeure Events include, but are not limited to: earthquake, fire, flood, severe weather, public health emergency or epidemic/pandemic, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disruption, utility/internet outages, government orders, travel restrictions, or closure/unavailability of program facilities or housing/dining providers.
If a Force Majeure Event occurs, you acknowledge that Leangap may have already incurred, or become legally obligated to pay, non-recoverable costs to third parties (for example: university housing/dining charges, deposits, minimum guarantees/attrition charges, meeting space fees, vendor and staffing costs, curriculum/materials, transportation, insurance, and other “non-cancelable” or “non-recoverable” costs).
Refunds/credits due to a Force Majeure Event (if any) will be determined as follows:
Deposit. The $700 deposit remains non-refundable except as stated in the “Death or Illness” section below.
Before the program starts. If Leangap cancels the program due to a Force Majeure Event before the program start date, Leangap will determine the amount (if any) that can be refunded based on what Leangap is able to recover from third-party providers. Any refund (if available) will be limited to the amount you paid minus: the non-refundable deposit; non-recoverable third-party costs that Leangap has incurred or is obligated to pay for your participation (including housing/dining deposits, minimum guarantees, and non-cancelable costs); and any non-refundable payment processing fees charged by the payment platform.
If a cash refund is not feasible due to non-recoverable costs, Leangap may offer a credit toward a future Leangap program instead, in Leangap’s discretion.
After the program starts. If the program begins and is later interrupted, shortened, relocated, or modified due to a Force Majeure Event, Leangap may (but is not required to) offer a partial refund or credit based on (a) the portion of the program already delivered and (b) the non-recoverable costs Leangap has incurred or remains obligated to pay. In some cases, the available refund may be zero.
Timing of refunds/credits. Any refunds/credits will be processed after Leangap determines final, documented non-recoverable costs and any amounts recovered from third parties; this may take time depending on third-party refund timelines.
Personal travel expenses. Leangap is not responsible for any non-refundable expenses you incur (such as flights, ground transportation, hotels, visas, or other travel costs). We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance.
This Force Majeure section is separate from voluntary withdrawal/cancellation. If you choose not to attend due to concerns about a Force Majeure Event when Leangap is still able to operate the program, the standard cancellation/refund policy above applies. - Death or Illness: In the event of the death of the student, or any of their parents or tutors, tuition will be fully refundable, inclusive of the $700 USD deposit, as long as the family provides a document issued by a government civil registration office that declares the date, location, and cause of the person's death. In the event of illness, the tuition will be fully refundable, inclusive of the $700 USD deposit, as long as the disease falls within the following list of recognized illnesses: Acute Encephalitis, Acute Poliomyelitis, Anthrax, Chickenpox, Cholera, COVID (and its variants), Diphtheria, Dysentery, Legionellosis, Legionnaires Disease, Leprosy, Leptospirosis, Malaria, Measles, Meningococcal Infection, Mumps, Opthalmia Neonatorum, Paratyphoid Fever, Plague, Rabies, Rubella, Scarlet Fever, Smallpox, Tetanus, Tuberculosis, Typhoid Fever, Viral Hepatitis, Whooping Cough or Yellow Fever. Additional diseases will be considered at the discretion of Leangap Education, Inc.
